The 7 Days Morocco Tour from Casablanca is a complete loop that begins and ends where most international flights do. A day on foot in Fes el Bali, a ninth-century medina with no cars and around nine thousand lanes.
You see the Bou Inania and Attarine madrasas, the Nejjarine fountain and its woodwork museum, the Al Quaraouiyine mosque and library, and the Chouara tanneries, still worked by hand in stone vats.
A licensed local guide is recommended and can be arranged. The afternoon is free for the souks, the potters quarter, or the Merenid tombs above the city for the view at sunset.

The long southern run. You cross the Middle Atlas through Ifrane, a 1930s hill town with pitched roofs, then the cedar forest near Azrou where Barbary macaques gather by the road.
Lunch at Midelt, halfway between the mountains and the desert, then the descent into the Ziz Valley, where hundreds of thousands of date palms follow the river between bare cliffs.
You arrive at Merzouga in the late afternoon and ride into Erg Chebbi by camel, reaching camp at sunset. Dinner under the tent, drumming around the fire, and a night in a private tent on the sand.

Sunrise over the dunes, then the camels take you back to Merzouga for breakfast and a shower.
West through Rissani, whose covered market is the busiest in the Tafilalet, and Erfoud, where fossil-bearing rock is cut and polished in workshops open to visitors.
The afternoon reaches Todra Gorge, a corridor barely wide enough for the road and the stream beneath limestone walls of about 300 metres. A short walk on the valley floor, then on to the Dades Valley for the night.

Morning on the kasbah road: El Kelaa des Mgouna, centre of the Moroccan rose trade, and the Skoura oasis with Kasbah Amerhidil among the palms.
Lunch in Ouarzazate, with time for the Taourirt Kasbah or the film studios, then Ait Ben Haddou, where a footbridge and a climb take you up through the earthen ksar to the granary and its view over the valley.
The final stage crosses the High Atlas by the Tizi n Tichka pass, with viewpoints on the way down into Marrakech.

A whole day in Marrakech, which needs it. The morning usually covers the Koutoubia minaret, the Saadian tombs, the Bahia Palace and the Ben Youssef Madrasa, with a local guide if you want the history.

The evening belongs to Jemaa el Fna, which turns into an open-air kitchen after dark.
