7 Days Morocco Tour from Casablanca
    Tour Details

The 7 Days Morocco Tour from Casablanca is a complete loop that begins and ends where most international flights do. It covers three of the four imperial cities, the Roman ruins at Volubilis, the Sahara at Erg Chebbi and the kasbah valleys of the south, then brings you back to Casablanca in time for a departing flight.

Compared with the six-day version, the seventh day buys a proper day in Marrakech rather than a rushed morning, and a calmer final transfer to the coast instead of a race to the airport.

Everything is private: your own vehicle, your own driver, and a schedule that can be shifted to fit your flight times.

    Itinerary
7 Days Morocco Tour from Casablanca

    Day 1Casablanca - Rabat - Meknes - Volubilis - Fes

Pickup at Casablanca airport, at the port or at your hotel, with a first stop at the Hassan II Mosque if your arrival time allows. It stands partly over the Atlantic and its minaret is one of the tallest in the world.

North to Rabat for the Kasbah of the Udayas, blue and white above the river mouth, and the Hassan Tower facing the mausoleum of Mohammed V.

Inland to Meknes, walled and monumental, then the Roman city of Volubilis, whose mosaics and triumphal arch sit among wheat fields below Moulay Idriss. Arrival in Fes in the evening.

Accommodation: Riad or hotel in Fes

Day 2Fes - full day in the medina

A day on foot in Fes el Bali, a ninth-century medina with no cars and around nine thousand lanes.

You see the Bou Inania and Attarine madrasas, the Nejjarine fountain and its woodwork museum, the Al Quaraouiyine mosque and library, and the Chouara tanneries, still worked by hand in stone vats.

A licensed local guide is recommended and can be arranged. The afternoon is free for the souks, the potters quarter, or the Merenid tombs above the city for the view at sunset.

Accommodation: Riad or hotel in Fes

    Day 3Fes - Ifrane - Azrou - Midelt - Ziz Valley - Merzouga

The long southern run. You cross the Middle Atlas through Ifrane, a 1930s hill town with pitched roofs, then the cedar forest near Azrou where Barbary macaques gather by the road.

Lunch at Midelt, halfway between the mountains and the desert, then the descent into the Ziz Valley, where hundreds of thousands of date palms follow the river between bare cliffs.

You arrive at Merzouga in the late afternoon and ride into Erg Chebbi by camel, reaching camp at sunset. Dinner under the tent, drumming around the fire, and a night in a private tent on the sand.

Accommodation: Berber desert camp, Erg Chebbi

Day 4Merzouga - Rissani - Todra Gorge - Dades Valley

Sunrise over the dunes, then the camels take you back to Merzouga for breakfast and a shower.

West through Rissani, whose covered market is the busiest in the Tafilalet, and Erfoud, where fossil-bearing rock is cut and polished in workshops open to visitors.

The afternoon reaches Todra Gorge, a corridor barely wide enough for the road and the stream beneath limestone walls of about 300 metres. A short walk on the valley floor, then on to the Dades Valley for the night.

Accommodation: Hotel or guesthouse in the Dades Valley

Day 5Dades - Valley of Roses - Skoura - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech

Morning on the kasbah road: El Kelaa des Mgouna, centre of the Moroccan rose trade, and the Skoura oasis with Kasbah Amerhidil among the palms.

Lunch in Ouarzazate, with time for the Taourirt Kasbah or the film studios, then Ait Ben Haddou, where a footbridge and a climb take you up through the earthen ksar to the granary and its view over the valley.

The final stage crosses the High Atlas by the Tizi n Tichka pass, with viewpoints on the way down into Marrakech.

Accommodation: Riad or hotel in Marrakech

Day 6Marrakech - full day in the city

A whole day in Marrakech, which needs it. The morning usually covers the Koutoubia minaret, the Saadian tombs, the Bahia Palace and the Ben Youssef Madrasa, with a local guide if you want the history.

Afternoon in the souks, or at the Majorelle garden and the Yves Saint Laurent museum next door.

The evening belongs to Jemaa el Fna, which turns into an open-air kitchen after dark.

Accommodation: Riad or hotel in Marrakech

Day 7Marrakech - Casablanca and departure

A short final day. The motorway north takes about three hours, with time in Casablanca for the Hassan II Mosque if you did not see it on arrival, or for the Corniche and the Habous quarter.

Drop-off at Casablanca airport, at the port or at your hotel, timed around your flight.

If your flight leaves early, we shift the departure from Marrakech to the morning.

    FAQ
Does the tour really start and end in Casablanca?

Yes, it is a full loop. Pickup and drop-off at the airport, the port or your hotel, which suits cruise arrivals and anyone flying in and out of Mohammed V.

What does the seventh day add over the six-day tour?

A full day in Marrakech instead of a half day, and a relaxed transfer back to Casablanca rather than a same-day dash to the airport.

How long is the drive to the desert?

Day three is around eight hours from Fes to Merzouga, broken by stops in the cedar forest, at Midelt and in the Ziz Valley. It is the longest stage of the week.

Can we swap Marrakech for more time in the desert?

Yes. A second night at Erg Chebbi with a free day for nomad camps and Khamlia can replace one Marrakech night at no extra cost beyond accommodation.

Is it suitable for a cruise stopover?

Only if your ship is in port for a week. For a single day in Casablanca we can arrange a short excursion instead.

What sort of vehicle is used?

An air-conditioned sedan, minivan or 4×4 depending on the size of your group and the amount of luggage.

    Why Choose This Tour?

Seven days is the point where a Morocco trip stops being a transfer schedule. You get the imperial north, the Sahara and Marrakech, and each of them gets at least a full day rather than a passing look.

Starting and ending at Casablanca also removes the usual complication of open-jaw flights and internal transfers.
